LEMON RASAM


INGREDIENTS

Dal water – 3 cups
Toor dal – ¼ cup
Lemon juice – 3 tsps
Tomato – 1
Green chillies – 3
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Sambar powder – ½ tsp
Asafoetida – ¼ tsp
Oil – 2tsps
Jeera (cumin) – ½ tsp
Mustard seeds – ¼ tsp
Salt to taste
Curry leaves – few
Coriander leaves – little

METHOD

Cook toor dal in pressure cooker, mash the dal, mix water and filter the water. Heat 1tsp oil in kadai, add cumin seeds and curry leaves.
Now add tomato and green chillies. Sauté for a min, add the dal water
Add turmeric and sambar powder, asafoetida and salt.
Allow to boil for 5 to 7 mins.
After removing from the fire add lemon juice to the rasam
Now heat 1tsp oil, add mustard seeds and cumin and add it to the rasam. Garnish with coriander leaves.
