PINEAPPLE RASAM



INGREDIENT

Cut pineapple – ½ cup
Dal water – 1 cup
Lemon juice – ½ lemon
Tomato – 1
Green chillies - 2
Curry leaves – few
Coriander leaves – few
Oil – 2 tsps
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Cumin – ¼ tsp
Asafoetida – ¼ tsp
Salt to taste

RASAM POWDER

Coriander – ¼ tsp
Pepper – 5 to 6 cons
Cumin – ¼ tsp
Red chillies - 3

METHOD

Cut pineapple and tomato into small pieces
Slit the green chillies.
For dal water, cook toor dal in cooker, mash it, add water and filter the water
For the rasam powder, heat 1 tsp oil in pan, roast all the ingredients and make a powder.
In a pan add the pineapple, tomato and green chillies and boil in water.
When the pineapple is cooked add the dal water, rasam powder, salt and asafoetida.
Boil for few minutes, remove from fire and add the lemon juice.
Heat oil, add mustard seeds, cumin and curry leaves.
Add to rasam and garnish with coriander leaves.
